HOW IT WORKS

1. Order and select your options

Choose the film length, narrative style and whether you would like us to source external archive material. Add the product to your cart and place your order.

We’ll get back to you within 1–2 business days after your order.

2. Brief and kick-off meeting

After ordering, you’ll receive a guided brief form covering the essential production details, such as what the film is for, your initial thoughts, timing and any relevant material you already have.

You’ll also receive a link to book a kick-off meeting, where we talk through the story, narrative style, possible interviewees, available material, schedule and other details that help give the production its direction.

You do not need to arrive with a finished story. If you already know what you want the film to focus on, that gives the production a starting point. If not, the story can be developed from the information, people and material available.

If any of your original selections need to be adjusted, the changes and final price are agreed together before production starts.

Once the production details are confirmed, you’ll receive an e-signable production agreement.

3. Story development and production planning

After the kick-off meeting, the story and production are developed further based on the information available and your selected narrative style.

If more background is needed, pre-interviews can be arranged with people who know the subject, company history or relevant events particularly well. These are background conversations that help uncover useful details and shape the story before filming.

Interview questions, the voice-over storyline and script, or a combination of these are then prepared depending on the narrative style you selected. The relevant material is reviewed with you before the filmed interviews or voice-over recording so the direction matches what the Company Story is intended to communicate.

The filming, people, locations and supporting material are then planned around the story.

4. Filming

The planned interviews and supporting footage are filmed for the Company Story.

Supporting footage can include people, environments, work, products, processes, locations or other subjects relevant to the story.

5. First delivery

You’ll receive the first version of the Company Story approximately 4–6 weeks after filming.

6. Review and final delivery

After reviewing the first version, if changes are needed, one revision round is included.

The agreed changes are then made and the final main film and cutdowns are delivered. The turnaround for revisions depends on the amount and nature of the requested changes.

SELECTING YOUR OPTIONS

1. Film length

Choose the length of the main Company Story film.

Options:

  • 5 minutes

  • 15 minutes

  • 30 minutes

The film length determines how much room there is to develop the story.

5 minutes – Concise Company Story

A straightforward and focused version built around one clear story. It works well when the main events and message can be communicated without going deeply into multiple people, periods or perspectives.

15 minutes – In-depth Company Story

More room to develop the narrative and vary its pace. Important changes, challenges, turning points, people and different stages of the story can be given more context and time.

30 minutes – Comprehensive documentary

The most in-depth option. It allows more time to explore the people, history, events and different perspectives behind the company, giving individual parts of the story more room to develop.

The selected length does not determine the number of filming days or interviewees on its own. Those are planned around the story and how it needs to be told.

2. Narrative style

Choose how you would like the Company Story to be told.

Interview-led – Story told through conversations

The story is primarily told by people connected to it.

These could include founders, current or former employees, executives, board members, family members, people involved in important developments or others whose experience or perspective is relevant to the story.

The interviews are planned and the questions shaped to bring out the experiences, events and details needed to tell the story.

Voice-over led – Custom storyline crafted by us

We develop the storyline, write the narration and arrange the voice-over narrator for the production.

The narration carries the story while filmed footage, your own existing material, any external archive material included in the production and other visuals support it.

Interview & Voice-over led

Interviews and voice-over are combined.

People connected to the story can tell key parts in their own words, while the voice-over provides additional structure, context and continuity where needed. The voice-over storyline, script and narrator are handled by us as part of the production.

3. External archive material sourced by us

Choose whether you would like us to search for and license external archive material for the Company Story.

Options:

  • Not included

  • Included

Not included – No external archive material is sourced as part of the production.

You can still provide your own existing photographs, videos, documents or other material for us to review and use where relevant.

Included – Suitable archive material is searched for from external sources and the necessary usage rights are arranged for its agreed use in the film.

Depending on the story, this could include historical footage, photographs, news or broadcast archives, stock footage or other material that helps illustrate a time, place, event or subject that cannot be filmed today.

The exact material and sources depend on the story and what suitable material is available.

Not sure what to choose?

Choose the options that seem closest to the Company Story you have in mind. The story, narrative approach and production details are developed further after ordering before the final scope and price are confirmed.

THE BORING STUFF… (YOU SHOULD STILL READ IT)

Production scope

The exact number of filming days, interviewees, filming locations and other production requirements is determined during story development and production planning.

When interviews are part of the film, approximately 1–5 interviewees is typical, but the right number depends on the story being told.

Your existing material

You can provide existing photographs, videos, documents or other material that may be useful for the story regardless of whether you select external archive material sourcing.

The material is reviewed during story development and can be incorporated where it supports the film.

You are responsible for having the necessary rights to material you provide for the production.

External archive material

If external archive material sourcing is selected, suitable material is sourced and the necessary usage rights are arranged for its agreed inclusion in the Company Story.

Third-party archive material remains subject to the respective rights holder’s licensing terms.

Extended usage rights can be agreed separately.

Rights to material supplied by you or licensed from third parties remain with their respective rights holders. Visual Goods (blind huck Oy, 3390334-5 / FI33903345) retains the copyrights to the original material and work produced by us as part of the production.
